General FAQ'S

Question: "How did a lawyer get to be an actor. I went to law school and know how tough it is. Why the change?"

Tom's reply: Perhaps it should be asked, "how did an actor get to be a lawyer?" I went to grad school for an MFA in acting (Chapel Hill, NC). I left after one year. A couple years later, I went to law school. After passing the Minnesota Bar, I was asked to audition for a production of Fiddler on the Roof at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, MN. One year and four shows later, I decided that I needed to reevaluate my career plans. Previously, I had never given my acting career a true shot; I never moved to NYC or L.A. So, after some considerable thought, I felt that I needed to move to NYC. I didn't want to wake up one day at 80 years old and feel that I never gave my acting and singing a chance to make it in the business. That was a few years ago. Thankfully, I have been working ever since as a full-time actor.

Question: "By the way, I know this is awfully personal but, can you tell me if you are single, going with someone or married and how old you are...I have a single friend who is 30 and very pretty but I don't know if you ever date any of your fans?"

Tom's reply: I'm XX years old (in this business it's best not to give the exact age!) and single. Your inquiry flatters me, but it is not too practical to date strangers. I imagine that you can recall many a blind date that your "best friends" have set you up on in the past. Although their intentions are good, they usually don't turn out too well. Thank you, however, for the inquiry.
